0 star – Very disappointing and distressing experience

I traveled to Elf’s Dental Clinic in Antalya for dental treatment after being recommended by someone I trusted. Unfortunately, from the moment I arrived, my experience was extremely distressing. Prior to traveling, I communicated with a staff member named Kristina regarding my appointment dates and hotel arrangements. Everything appeared organized. However, when I landed in Antalya around midnight, no one was there to pick me up. My name was written on a piece of paper on a wall. Two men approached me, speaking very limited English, and told me to wait. I was left alone at the airport for several hours late at night without any clear communication. Eventually, a man who did not speak English transported me to the hotel. The following day, Kristina claimed she was unaware that no one had collected me and laughed the situation off, showing no concern. At the clinic, I was seated and introduced briefly to the dentist with the words, “This is your doctor, he will work now. Don’t move.” No treatment plan was explained. No consent discussion took place. No risks were outlined. When the procedure was finished and I looked in the mirror, I was shocked to see that my teeth had been shaved down completely. When Kristina returned, she asked, “What do you think you want?” in a rude and dismissive tone. Her behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful. Even more concerning, she contacted a friend of mine in the UK and misrepresented the situation, claiming that I had not booked properly and that I arrived asking for treatment without arrangement. This is entirely untrue. Sharing or discussing a patient’s situation with third parties raises serious concerns about confidentiality and professionalism. When I requested to speak with the clinic director, he appeared more concerned about online reviews than about why healthy teeth had been aggressively reduced without proper explanation. Five months later, I began experiencing severe pain. My UK dentist performed X-rays and confirmed that two teeth had developed chronic apical periodontitis due to excessive reduction and gaps between the teeth and crowns. Two previously healthy teeth now require either root canal treatment or extraction, resulting in significant financial and emotional distress. I have medical records and X-rays to support this. Before this treatment, my teeth were healthy. I deeply regret not returning to the airport that first night. I strongly urge anyone considering treatment at this clinic to proceed with extreme caution and ensure full written treatment plans, informed consent, and post-treatment guarantees are in place before proceeding. I have undergone independent examinations in the UK, and the findings are documented. In addition, I possess written communications between your staff member, Christina, myself and friend of mine that indicate potential breaches of confidentiality and professional standards.

Serious Concerns Regarding Dental Treatment Experience

I am writing on behalf of my wife regarding her treatment experience with Elif’s Smile, as her original review was removed. She arranged her treatment by phone with Christina. The problems began as soon as she landed at the airport, where she was left waiting for hours without proper assistance. During that time, she called me very upset, and I had to rearrange my work schedule to travel to Antalya because she was clearly distressed. The following day, she called me again in tears, explaining that all her teeth had been shaved down almost to the gum line. My wife had very healthy natural teeth before this — she did not need implants or extensive work of that nature. When I arrived at the clinic with her, the manager/director agreed to speak with us. He appeared polite and professional; however, I believe he needs to pay closer attention to his staff and their practices. I personally observed members of the dental staff frequently leaving the treatment area, going outside to smoke, or being on their phones during working hours. This was concerning. Five months later, my wife began experiencing pain and swelling in her left cheek. A UK dentist later informed us that due to the excessive shaving of her teeth, two teeth developed infections. She required root canal treatment and additional corrective procedures. We are sharing this experience to warn future patients to be cautious and to thoroughly research before committing to treatment.

Irresponsible and Unprofessional Service

This clinic is a disaster. The dentist does not speak a word of English, making it impossible to understand what procedures you're getting or what to expect. There are a 2-3 so-called "translator" on site, but they're constantly walking in and out of the room, taking phone calls during consultation, totally disinterested and unavailable when you actually need to ask questions. Once you've signed the forms and paid upfront, no one cares about you anymore! They skipped a critical root canal and went ahead with placing crowns on severely compromised teeth. Fast forward nine months, and I was in excruciating pain. A qualified UK dentist has now confirmed that the teeth were beyond saving and must be extracted. I’m now facing the costly and painful process of getting implants – all because of this clinic’s negligence. And don’t be fooled by their “guarantee.” Trust me, after going through what I did, there’s no way you’ll ever want to go back there!!! This place is run by amateurs who clearly don’t follow proper dental protocols. Stay away and save yourself the long-term damage.

That as is a joke !! Poor communication so is giving the exact information, transparency , confirmation and planning ! Language barrier is an issue , so is the negotiation for the package with the people I met in person can not be clear due to misinformation and details not explained properly which doesn’t look good and it feels like you are being cheated . Yes there are changes that could happen but these kind of things have to be explained to a client so we are prepared , to be told about a change in the moment of arrival to the Clinique is not the right approach ! Was given a deal which I agreed on and when came to the hospital things “changed “ and I was embarrassed by the situation caused by the booking agent due to them cancelling on the deal of flying tickets , Secondly the implants had to be changed due to a specificity of the density of the bone , something I’ve asked for 3 times and was insured that all the info given to me is accurate “rubbish “ . The price wasn’t the same as the one I agreed ! I was asked to pay extra by the booking agent , for 2 of the implants ! If you like to pay by card there is 10% tax on the amount your paying so basically it’s almost not even close to the offer I’ve been given and agreed to ! I spoke to another booking agent from another company and the tax was immediately brought down to 4 % ! These guys I spoke to physically are far away from professional when it comes to organisation , not informed of what the deal is , I’m addressing only to the booking agents and the company it’s self not the actual dentists as these are 2 different companies !!!! Complete amateurs when it comes to a service they claim they are really good at !!! I was out of the Clinique and booked a flight to Istanbul this same evening to go with another Clinique where all details and booking are transparent , as we come from Bulgaria with my mom as the treatment was specifically for her and I had to fly from London to Sofia to pick her up and then leave to Antalya !!! You can imagine the shame and embarrassment I had to go though not even mentioning the 1 k for flights , bringing my mom through all this … The 5 star hotel I agree to pay extra for is no different than a 3 star judging by the room Ive been given ! Arrived yesterday with my mother so when entered the 1st room it was not even close to alright so I asked to be transferred to another , was transferred to another room , separated the beds and there was a smoked cigarette on the floor from previous occupancy …

Very disappointed with my experience at Elfs Smile in Antalya, Turkey. They didn’t explain the procedure step by step, leaving me unsure of what was happening. After the treatment, my bite was completely off on one side, making it uncomfortable to eat. Even after a second visit to fix the problem—and an extra cost of £500—I’m still having difficulties eating on that side. To add insult to injury, they claimed that this was how I had asked for my teeth to be done, which is completely untrue, and they failed to provide the correct service I initially requested. Moreover, they refused to pick me up from the airport, despite my need for assistance after returning due to their poor work. I regret choosing this clinic and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone there now trying to remove my review, I booked through tour for cure and they definitely sent me to elfs smile dentist i have a 10 year warranty from elfs smile as proof… and plenty of emails to prove i went there… AVOID THIS DENTIST!!!
